The future of Pakistan’s auto industry is still in peril. Local car makers started announcing production shutdowns in the face of not enough inventory. While others are bringing enticing offers to allure the customers to at least maintain their monthly sales graphs. Record high prices and drop in purchasing power are the reasons behind the dwindling sales.

Concerning sales charts, Pakistan Suzuki Motors Company (PSMC) has suffered a considerable dent in the last couple of months. Before the company found itself on the precipice of another sales crisis, it started offering appealing offers for its prominent models, including Alto, Swift, and Wagon R.

The Offers

For ‘Suzuki Alto’ and ‘Swift,’ Pak Suzuki’s offer translates to a significant saving opportunity of Rs. 900,000 with Habib Metro’s auto financing at a fixed interest rate of 17%. The company’s post read:

“Turn your car dreams into reality and save big up to Rs.900,000 with Habib Metro Auto Finance by availing a fixed rate of 17%. So, don’t wait further and get behind the wheel of your dream car.”

Meanwhile, for its other prominent hatchback, the Wagon R, Pak Suzuki announced a dual offer—a ‘Purchase Bonus’ of Rs 100,000 and an ‘Exchange Bonus’ of Rs 200,000.

By announcing these offerings, Pak Suzuki seems to be aiming to minimize the effect of the recent price hike.

Pak Suzuki’s Price Hike

Pak Suzuki has increased car prices for the first time in 2024. However, the car assembler has yet to mention the reason for this fresh hike in its notification. The new prices are applicable from March 1, 2024.

As per the recent hike, Alto VX will now cost Rs. 2,331,000 instead of the previous Rs. 2,251,000. Meanwhile, the new price of Alto VXR will be Rs. 2,707,000 compared to the old rate of Rs.2,612,000.

The first variant, Cultus VXR, has seen a hike of Rs. 140,000, and it will now cost Rs. 3,858,000 instead of Rs. 3,718,000. Meanwhile, Cultus VXL will now cost Rs. 4,244,000 compared to the previous Rs. 4,084,000.

Suzuki Alto remais cheap, but Suzuki Cultus is expensive, Proton Saga start at 3 750 000 PKR for the lower trim and end to 4 100 000 for the higher trim.
Instead of buying Cultus better go for Saga
