Jeep Wrangler Goes All-Electric by 2028

Exciting news for Jeep enthusiasts as the iconic Jeep Wrangler sets its sights on a fully electric future along with some other popular models.

The current JL generation, assembled in Ohio, will remain in production until 2028. But the real buzz is the 2025 upgrade, which will be unveiling the Wrangler 4xe hybrid. Fast forward to 2028, when the Wrangler intends to take a bold step, going all-electric with two powertrains. One is fully battery-powered, and the other utilizes combustion as a range-extender. Goodbye, internal combustion; the next Wrangler is truly fully electric.

Jeep Wagoneer

The majestic Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are not left behind in the electrification project. These SUV giants are gearing up for an electric twist soon, though they will be cruising until 2028 with a mid-cycle refresh in 2025. 2025 sees the arrival of an electric version, accompanied by a range-extending engine. The real spark, however, ignites in 2027, marking the debut of a fully battery-electric Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer. The future is electric, and Wagoneer is riding the current.

Electric Grand Cherokee

The Grand Cherokee charts its course with a mid-cycle refresh in 2024 and production sailing smoothly until 2028. The two-row model continues its journey, while the three-row version stretches into 2028. The big reveal comes in 2027 when the next-gen model steps in, offering a power-packed choice between battery and combustion engines. Grand Cherokee is not just evolving; it’s electrifying.

Electric Dodge Durango

Joining the electrification party at Stellantis, the Dodge Durango gears up for an electrifying ride as well. The current generation will be available until 2025, making way for the next-gen model in 2026. The countdown begins, and in a move mirroring the Grand Cherokee, the Durango will embrace combustion and battery-electric powertrains.
