Disney celebrates its 100th anniversary in a dazzling manner and unveils a whimsical set of five Fiat Mickey Mouse-themed Topolino electrified vehicles. Known as Topolino, the Italian term for Mickey Mouse and the original name for the Fiat 500 in 1936, these electric cars intertwine the rich histories of Topolino and Disney.

Imaginative Fiat Masterpieces

Each of the five Topolinos serves as a captivating journey through art and time, narrating the tale of Mickey Mouse from its inception to the present day. While these visually stunning electric cars won’t be available for purchase, they will grace the top of Fiat’s Lingotto plant in Turin, Italy, commemorating both Disney’s and Lingotto’s 100th anniversary in 2023.

Disney’s Touch on Fiat’s Topolinos

Collaborating with Disney artists, Centro Stile designers crafted unique outfits for the first four electric cars. Disney artist Giorgio Cavazzano took the helm for the fifth EV, drawing inspiration directly from Mickey Mouse himself.

Diverse Themes

The Topolino models showcase diverse themes, blending automotive and entertainment in perfect harmony. The first model draws inspiration from Disney’s short film “Steamboat Willie,” embracing the charm of the past. Meanwhile, the second model pays tribute to modern art with Mickey Mouse initials intricately sculpted on its body. The third model celebrates Disney’s innovation by blending traditional and abstract elements, while the fourth takes cues from street art. The fifth model, designed by Giorgio Cavazzano, encapsulates Mickey’s essence in a truly striking form.

Fiat CEO’s Perspective

Olivier Francois, Fiat CEO, and Global Stellantis CMO expressed, “The stories of FIAT and Disney are rooted together, celebrating their 100th anniversaries. The 2 Topolinos — the Disney icon and the very first Fiat 500 — have inspired art, street art, and fashion for decades. Today, I am proud to present our tribute to Disney with five special Topolino one-offs, all inspired by the iconic Disney character that motivated our Topolino’s nickname back in the 1930s.”

Disney’s Pride and Honor

Daniel Frigo, Country Manager of The Walt Disney Company Italy & Turkey, and Head of Studio Italy, shared Disney’s pride in celebrating their 100th anniversary with Fiat. He remarked, “We are truly honored to be able to celebrate our 100th anniversary with this magical moment that brings FIAT and Topolino together once again, in the spirit of creativity and the bond of friendship.”
