Islamabad to Lahore ride
Would you ever consider covering such a long distance on a motorbike? Probably not. But the owner has impressed us with his decision to travel this distance on two wheels. With an average speed of around 40-50km/h, the bike brought its owner to Lahore in 11 hours.
Modifications
“Initially, the bike was in an extremely rough condition before a complete restoration,” the owner shares as he gives an overview of the restoration process. This included a complete engine rebuild, new paint, ordering parts from Karachi etc. The whole process took him around one month of sheer commitment. Moreover, the bike carries original headlights, speedometers, indicators, etc. The silencer has been re-chromed.
Furthermore, some creative yet meaningful stickers have also been pasted on the front of the bike. Some are about the Vespa Club, Nanga Parbat, Kalam, Passu Cones, Discover Pakistan K2, etc. Also, as the owner restored this vintage model, he chose a deep blue paint to complement the black seat.
Engine
The engine is 50cc and shares no common parts with present-day Honda bikes in the market. New installations include a carburetor and, pistons, etc.
Restoration Cost
The owner purchased the Honda 50cc for Rs 30,000 last year, and combined with the restoration cost; it cost Rs 100,000 in total.
Engine Oil
The engine oil required is similar to a modern-day Honda 70cc bike. The oil itself is of an equivalent grade. The overall cost of Rs 2000 is incurred in tuning and changing engine oil processes.
