Nope, they have evolved. You would think they're the real owners, only to find out the car is not even registered to them, but to a previous owner. I have walked away from atleast a dozen such deals after realizing the seller is a dealer. They would call you to their house, or an apartment building, in an effort to show you they're the original owners and what you're looking at is their "ghar ki ginyan gari". car would usually be parked inside. Some would stage dramas too, I had one guy call up some dude who played the role of another potential buyer, while I was inspecting the car. The other party gave him an offer, and he wanted to pressurize me into giving him a token. I walked away.
Had the exact same thing happen to me 2 years later last year, but this time I bought the car, only because it was a good car at a very good price. Young guy, gave me the address to a bungalow in an affluent area of Karachi, car was parked inside along with other much more expensive German cars. I knew he was a dealer when he pulled the "other party" antic, but it was a good deal. Later saw more of his ads on Pakwheels, for the same type of car.
