AoA,
I have started a project for restoration of Datsun 120y 1979 model (B310), and already purchased the project car. And now I am in phase of sourcing the crucial parts before proceeding with the rebuilding and restoration works.
Pre-build Challenges:
1- The vehicle was base grade, thus it didn't have AC option nor the center vents - (the center vents space is sealed with cover from factory)
2- The part of Heater Finisher (Control panel for vents and blower) is missing along with the cables and knobs.
3- Car was standing with windows down for a few years, resulting in loss of small parts, specially related to interior.
4- The last repairs of the car were done very badly and cheaply, thus a lot of body filler in the car.
5- The bonnet hood is in pretty bad shape as it looks like children have been jumping on it.
Actions Taken on the identifies Prebuild challenges
1- Complete Dashboard was arranged in original condition and of higher grade with AC vents and tachometer.
2- All original interior trims were arranged and are in storage.
3- Body work done by bringing the car to bare metal.
4- Bonnet, trunk and complete roof changed (details in the thread)
