I'm some 3 years late , but got a baleno recently and modified its meter, so thought of sharing it here.
It was a total DIY with a negligible cost & minimum skill level . (Rs. 550).
You need:
1. White LED bulbs.
2. A fine sandpaper to scrub the old color of needles and rear side of meter plates.
3. Cheap Red Nail paint.
4. A screwdriver
5. Some common sense and 2 hours of free
time.
Remove the needles, gently scrub the old paint and carefully apply the new red one.
Replacing old bulbs with LED bulbs is super easy, (just check the polarity of LEDs before installing).
Assemble everything back . DONE.
NB: be very careful while putting back the needles, connect the meter, and check if needles are where they should be. If you end up placing them wrong (like I did), remove the needles, turn on the car and place them where they should be. FULLY DONE
