Punjab Government launches bike ambulance service yet in another city

After Lahore and Multan, the government of Punjab has launched bike ambulance service in yet another city, Gujranwala—a city famously known for wrestlers. The main aim of this new initiative by the provincial government is to cater the needs of people living in the Punjab Province by giving them first-hand medical aid at a quick time.

Most of the cities of Punjab is densely populated, and the conventional ambulance cannot reach the areas at a quick time which puts the life of the patient in danger, but these newly launched bike ambulance service can reach to populated areas with much ease. According to Local Government Minister Mansha Ullah Butt, 100 officers from Rescue 1122 have been given ambulance bikes in this regard.

Moreover, while talking at the event, DG Rescue 1122 Rizwan Nasir said that the bikes had been equipped with medical equipments such as Airway Kit, Trauma and Burn Kit, Blood Pressure Monitor, Portable Oxygen Cylinder, Automated External Defibrillator, Pulse Oximeter, Splints, Cervical  Collar, Glucometer and lastly Life-Saving Drugs. Furthermore, a medical literate person will also be available. It is pertinent to mention here that this modern bike ambulance service is unique in all of South Asia.

Moving onward, the government will also be launching the bike ambulance service in other divisional headquarters of the province soon. Both Yamaha YBR and Honda 125 Delux will be used for this service.
