After receiving the Greenfield investment status, Hyundai, in collaboration with Nishat Group, is coming soon to Pakistan. The most eye-catching car of Hyundai to launch in Pakistan is the Elantra. It will give direct competition to the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla.
The 6th generation Elantra will get the facelift and will be launched in the 3rd quarter of 2018 in the U.S., and in the first quarter of 2019 in India. The new Elantra gets exceptional styling changes. It will not be false if we say that it is a complete generation change than a cosmetic update. The front section has been completely redesigned, and nothing seems to be carried from the pre-facelift version.
The following changes can be seen in the facelifted Elantra.
Front:
The headlights have been made to look like a right-angled triangle, which pierces into the new style grill. The bonnet has also been redesigned with extra creases and new wheel arches. The front bumper stays the same to a large extent.
Rear:
The rear gets a completely new look. The LED taillights have been moved to some extent, integrated into the new boot lid. The name Elantra is spelled out prominently on the boot lid. The changes are accommodated with a newly designed bumper having the place for license plate and reverse lights.
Wheels:
The facelift Elantra is equipped with a 16 and 17 inches newly designed alloy wheels. Also, the ECO model is equipped with 15-inch alloy design.
Interior:
The changes in the interior are far less than the exterior but, new things have been added to assist buyers. It gets a new design steering wheel with various controls on it. The AC vents have also been redesigned with new style control knobs. The infotainment system is available throughout the range with base unit supporting a 5-inch screen. Some models also support 8-inch system with Apple car play. Also, an eight-speaker Infinity sound system with Clari-Fi has been added to the interior. Below the center stack, there is a USB port, auxiliary port, a 12-volt output and a proper place to charge your phone.
Safety Features:
The safety features in the facelifted Elantra include forward collision-avoidance assist, lane keeping assist and driver attention alert. Moreover, there is Blind-spot Collision warning with rear cross traffic alert and lane change assist. In the Elantra limited, safe exit assist and forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian detection are there. The last pedestrian feature uses a camera and a radar for warning and auto braking. The safe exit feature helps in exiting the car safely when there is a flow of traffic on the road. All these safety features could be introduced in the international models but, maybe not in Pakistan due to exceptional traffic issues.
Engines:
The new facelift will include three engine options which are a 2.0-liter engine, a 1.4-liter turbo engine, and a 1.6-liter turbo engine. All will be available in the 6-speed manual and automatic transmission.
Sports model:
Powertrain aside, the Elantra Sport will contain a revised trim headliner, paddle shifters, sport front seats with leather, flat-bottom leather-wrapped steering wheel, sports instrument cluster and door trim garnish.
Now the news of launching of Elantra by Hyundai Nishat is confirmed, but till now, it is not confirmed whether the facelifted version would be launched in Pakistan or not.
